How to Set Up CenturyLink Email on an iPhone

This guide will show you how to set up the Mail app on your iPhone to work with your CenturyLink email account.

Tap on the Settings app.

The Settings App looks like a gear icon. You'll find it on your home screen.

Tap on "Passwords & Accounts"

On the Settings screen, this option should be near the top of the menu items.

Tap on "Add Account"

This option should be near the top of the screen.

Tap on "Other"

Several other options will be listed, but for generic email accounts (like CenturyLink) select "Other" at the bottom of the list.

Tap on "Add Mail Account"

This should be the first item listed.

Enter your account details

Fill out the first 3 fields with your account information. The two pieces of information you will need are your email and password. If you don't know what your email or password are, contact CenturyLink support.

Click Next when you are done.

Select the IMAP option.

Mail will automatically detect the server settings for CenturyLink, and will default to using the POP server. While POP works fine, IMAP provides a richer set of features.

If Mail doesn’t automatically fill in the server settings, using the settings described on the CenturyLink Email Support page.

Click Next when you are done.

You’re done!

Your mail should start downloading immediately. If you have a lot of messages, this process might take a little while.

If you get an error message saying that your password isn’t recognized, try again. If you continue to have trouble, you can try a password reset using the link on the CenturyLink Email Support page.
